Message to Community
Dear Parkview Families,
What an amazing week at Parkview! A big thank you to our amazing staff who courageously got pied in the face to help raise funds for clean water access in Sudan. Our students enthusiastically participated in Jump Rope for Heart to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation — thank you to Mr. Hewson for organizing this fantastic event. We are still collecting donations on Monday if you would still like to support this great cause!
Looking ahead, don’t forget our Fun Fair on June 12th! If you haven’t yet purchased your wristband or placed orders with our fantastic food truck vendors, be sure to do so soon! We will be showcasing the Grade 6 - 8 Shadows of Racism Art exhibit in the library and in the hallways of our school. Kindergarten to Grade 5 students also created identity affirming art work that will be showcased as well. All artist statements will be QR-coded, so be sure to bring a device to listen to the students explain their art.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
Warm regards,

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Early Dismissal - June 26
All schools in the York Region District School Board are committed to improving student achievement and well-being. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, an early release day will take place to allow elementary staff to take part in meetings during the afternoon of that day. These meetings will allow for school staff to engage in culminating activities regarding the review and revision of the School’s Improvement Plan as well as year-end and transition activities that support student success.
As has been our practice in the past, students will attend school during the morning of Thursday, June 26, 2025 only. Students will be dismissed early that day at 12:00pm. Arrangements will be made to ensure that students who are normally bussed to and from school will receive transportation at this time. Families whose children attend after school child care should make appropriate arrangements to address this change in schedule.

Jump Rope for Heart
We are happy to share information about Parkview’s 35th Jump Rope for Heart Event, held on Friday, May 23. Last year, our school raised $2015! This year, we are hoping to beat this total! We would appreciate all of your support by donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation using the following link: https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/84198. More information about this fundraiser can be found on this letter.
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Jump Rope for Heart is the school FUNdraising event that nobody wants to skip! Students discover fun ways to get active, practice healthy habits and learn about helping others while raising money to beat heart disease and stroke.
Our school is taking part once again in the Heart & Stroke Jump Rope for Heart event this year (our 35th year at Parkview). Students participate in a variety of physical activities (e.g., skipping, jumping, dancing, outdoor games). Leading up to our event day, kids are encouraged to raise funds. Last year, Parkview raised $2015! We are hoping to beat that total this year!
PARKVIEW loves participating in Jump Rope for Heart because:
- Students learn life-long habits: Jump Rope for Heart encourages kids to be active and live healthy. A lesson they will value for life!
- Kids feel good by doing good: Students learn the importance of giving back as they collect donations that help fund critical research that saves lives, prevents heart disease and stroke, and supports survivors and their families. As further proof of “doing good”, Parkview consistently donates the 8% cash reward earned and gives it back to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Be part of the movement – register today!
Join our school and help Heart and Stroke save lives by jump-starting your fundraising. Here’s how: Copy and paste this link into your internet browser and it will take you directly to the Parkview Page:
