Message to Community
Dear Parkview Families,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, this week has been filled with meaningful moments and heartfelt celebrations. We gathered together for a touching Grade 8 Graduation Ceremony, where we proudly sent off our graduating students with best wishes as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their educational journey. Their growth, resilience, and achievements have inspired us all.
We also came together for our End-of-Year Assembly, a vibrant celebration that highlighted the many heritage months honored in June, fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich diversity within our community. It was also a time of bittersweet goodbyes, as we expressed our gratitude and well-wishes to the dedicated staff members who are moving on to new adventures.
As we head into summer, please note that the school office will reopen on August 25th. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. Until then, we wish all our families a joyful, restful, and safe summer break!
Warm regards,
The Parkview Team

Access Report Cards in the Family Dashboard When Available
As we reach the end of the school year, schools will be sharing student report cards by June 30 for elementary schools and July 10 for secondary schools. Report cards will be available in the Family Dashboard until July 30. You will receive an email when your child’s report card is available.
For families who do not yet have a Family Dashboard account, you can sign up for an account at any time at family.yrdsb.ca. You can find information on how to create an account on the Board website or in this instructional video.
The Family Dashboard gives parents/guardians secure one-stop access to information and applications related to your child’s education. It is designed to make it easier for families to engage with their child’s education.
Please note, you can still request a printed copy of your child’s report card if you prefer by contacting your child’s school.
As we wrap up the school year, we also want to remind families that it’s important that the school has updated contact information for students and parents/guardians, including home address, phone numbers, email address and emergency contacts. This will ensure that the school can contact families in case of emergency, and also that you continue to receive important communications and updates from the school. Please contact the school directly with any changes.

Important Reminders for Student Safe Arrival Procedures
As we break for the summer holidays, we would like to remind families to report any student absences, especially during the first week of school. We recognize some families may be on extended vacation, transfer schools or move out of the board area and ask that you contact the school to inform office staff during the last week of August or on the first day of school.
As per Board Policy and Procedures #665.0, Safe Arrivals and Departures – Elementary and Secondary Students, if your child’s absence is still not verified even after exhausting different steps to connect with the family, York Regional Police will be contacted and may be dispatched to your residence.
We remind parent(s)/guardian(s) to update the school with all emergency contact information when changes are made. Thank you for your cooperation in reporting student absences.

Jump Rope for Heart
We are happy to share information about Parkview’s 35th Jump Rope for Heart Event, held on Friday, May 23. Last year, our school raised $2015! This year, we are hoping to beat this total! We would appreciate all of your support by donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation using the following link: https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/84198. More information about this fundraiser can be found on this letter.
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Jump Rope for Heart is the school FUNdraising event that nobody wants to skip! Students discover fun ways to get active, practice healthy habits and learn about helping others while raising money to beat heart disease and stroke.
Our school is taking part once again in the Heart & Stroke Jump Rope for Heart event this year (our 35th year at Parkview). Students participate in a variety of physical activities (e.g., skipping, jumping, dancing, outdoor games). Leading up to our event day, kids are encouraged to raise funds. Last year, Parkview raised $2015! We are hoping to beat that total this year!
PARKVIEW loves participating in Jump Rope for Heart because:
- Students learn life-long habits: Jump Rope for Heart encourages kids to be active and live healthy. A lesson they will value for life!
- Kids feel good by doing good: Students learn the importance of giving back as they collect donations that help fund critical research that saves lives, prevents heart disease and stroke, and supports survivors and their families. As further proof of “doing good”, Parkview consistently donates the 8% cash reward earned and gives it back to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Be part of the movement – register today!
Join our school and help Heart and Stroke save lives by jump-starting your fundraising. Here’s how: Copy and paste this link into your internet browser and it will take you directly to the Parkview Page:

Our Heart & Stroke Jump Rope for Heart Event Day is on: Friday, MAY 23, 2025
A reminder to students to dress appropriately for the weather - bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen if necessary. Jump ropes will be provided.
Thank you for helping to make this a great event and for supporting vital heart disease and stroke research and health education!
